Ahead of Apple iPhone SE India launch, iPhone 6s prices increased by Rs 3,000 on e-commerce sites

E-commerce platforms have raised the price of the Apple iPhone 6s in India by up to Rs 3,000. The price hike is said to be in view of a spike in demands for the iPhone 6s.

Ahead of the iPhone SE launch in India, e-commerce sites such as Flipkart have increased the price of the iPhone 6s. According to reports, prices have been increased by Rs 3,000. It’s worth pointing out that Apple hasn’t officially slashed the prices.

The iPhone 6s 16GB is available on Flipkart for Rs 42,999, up from Rs 40,499. The same model was available for Rs 40,000- Rs 41,000 on other e-commerce platforms and offline stores. Snapdeal and Amazon India are selling the device for roughly Rs 43,000 and Rs 44,000 respectively. Also, the smartphone is now available for approximately Rs 43,500 in offline retail.

According to Business Today, demands for the iPhone 6s have increased after Apple announced the iPhone SE for Rs 39,000. A lot of customers aren’t really pleased with the iPhone SE pricing, and have shown more interest in buying the iPhone 6s instead. E-commerce platforms and offline retailers are evidently cashing in on the growing demand and hence have raised the price of the iPhone 6s. The report says prices of other variants of the iPhone 6s as well as the iPhone 6s Plus have also been increased.

The iPhone SE is the latest smartphone Apple mainly targeted at those who preferred the older compact iPhones. While the design of the iPhone SE is inspired by the iPhone 5S, its specifications are on par with the latest iPhone 6s.

The smartphone has a 4-inch display, A9 processor and M9 co-processor, 12-megapixel iSight camera with Live Photos and 4K videos support and always on Hey Siri support. However, the iPhone SE skips the 3D Touch and reports suggest it has older generation Touch ID and Facetime camera as well.
