Apple could be planning 10.5-inch iPad Pro for 2017, flexy OLED iPad for 2018

The future is abundant with iPads, according to a new industry analyst report.

At this point in the 21st century, it’s safe to assume that the annual cycle of new Apple products is as regular as the progression of the lunar calendar.

A report released on Monday and spotted by MacRumors has given us a glimpse of what to expect from the tech giant in both 2017 and 2018. Three new iPads are slated for release next year, according to Ming-Chui Kuo, a KGI securities analyst with a strong track record of getting Apple predictions spot on.

Top of the bill will be a 10.5-inch iPad Pro, which should prove appealing to those who are keen to experience Apple’s top tablet in a neat midsized package. It will be joined by a 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2 and a more affordable 9.7-inch iPad.

Kuo also predicts that Apple will adopt OLED technology for the iPad in 2018 — something it is rumored to be implementing on the iPhone next year. The result will be the first iPad to feature a flexible screen, with the hardware upgrade accompanied by radical changes in the iPad’s interface.

I can tell you right now, there is no way Apple if launching flexible screens in 2018.  Apple has some of the slowest upgrade schedules in existence.  They will still be way behind everyone else on that for sure.

?????  This post has got to be based on bogus info….  a “10.5” iPad pro essentially already exists.  Until they beef up the OS in an iPad to something functional and flexible it will never replace a Mac/PC.  I own an iPad Pro 9.7 and love it but it could never replace my PC without a major OS enhancement. The  Apple strategy of forcing separation is being overshadowed by more flexible options and the market sales figures show it.

Sales figures are going to explode like never before. Apple is poised for unprecedented success. Not buying in now is a mistake.

@bakdahelup Desktop replacement? Well, if they make it large enough you could put a monitor and keyboard on it but I prefer a more conventional table or desk to put my computer on.
