Freedom 251: Buyers outrage after not being able to book the world’s cheapest smartphone from freedom251.com

Freedom 251, the world’s cheapest smartphone, has gone on sale via freedom251.com. On back of massive demand, not everyone has been able to book it, and angry users have been taken their outrage on Twitter.

Last evening, a Noida-based company Ringing Bells officially launched the world’s cheapest smartphone, the Freedom 251 at an unbelievable price tag of Rs 251. The bookings for the smartphone have already started on freedom251.com at 6AM today, and the homepage now shows a ‘Buy Now’ button. However, a lot of people have been unable to get through the payment page. Like always, this has become a topic to outrage about on Twitter with the hash tag #Freedom251.

Freedom 251 specifications and features: For the price, the Freedom 251 features an impressive set of hardware, including a 4-inch WVGA display, Qualcomm’s quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage with microSD card slot. It also features a 3.2-megapixel auto-focus rear camera and VGA selfie camera, a 1,450mAh battery and it runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.

A lot of enthusiastic buyers woke up early in the morning to buy the cheapest smartphone, but to their surprise, the website crashed giving multiple errors. Hitting the ‘Buy Now’ buttons takes you to the shopping cart, where the Freedom 251 is priced at Rs 251, and additional Rs 40 is applicable as delivery charge. However, we would caution our readers that freedom251.com is not a secure site and their data might get compromised.

On the same page, after entering your address details and accepting the terms and conditions, you get the ‘Pay Now’ button. Clicking on the button, the page refreshes and you’re asked to fill in the address details, and this is happening multiple times. This has caused a major outrage on Twitter where users have been continuously tweeting about not been able to buy the Freedom 251 smartphone. And most of the tweets are hilarious too. You can read some of these below.
