Here are the first LG G5 release date and price details

No foolin’, the official LG G5 release is set for two weeks from today, Friday April 1, and it won’t cost you nearly as much as the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge.

In the US, the LG G5 price is around $630 if you pay full retail. T-Mobile breaks that down into $26.25 a month over 24 months, and US Cellular is doing the same for $26.50 a month.

Verizon, AT&T and Sprint haven’t announced their delivery date or price for the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow phone, but expect one to appear in an updated news story soon.

In the UK, the phone retailers like Carphone Warehouse and Amazon will sell an unlocked LG G5 for an even £500, though, be warned: Amazon has the release date backed up by a week: April 8.

To sweeten the deal, some carriers and retailers are offering early adopter incentives. T-Mobile, for example, is throwing in an LG 360 Cam and an LG Battery Bundle for free.

Cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy S7

The LG G5, with a 5.3-inch display, is actually more affordable than the new Samsung Galaxy S7 despite its smaller 5.1-inch screen. It starts at a higher $669 (£569, AU$1,149) at full retail price.

Really, the LG G5 display size just as close to the 5.5-inch Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, and that costs even more money, too: $779 (£640, $AU$1,249).

With savings like this, you’re able to invest in LG G5 modular “friends” (ones that don’t come with the phone as part of a promotion offer), including camera battery grip and DAC Hi-Fi audio module.
