Honor 5A With 13-Megapixel Camera, VoLTE Support Launched

Huawei Terminal’s Honor brand over the weekend unveiled the Honor 5A smartphone in China. The new Honor smartphone will go on sale starting Friday in China and will come in two versions – a standard version priced at CNY 699 (approximately Rs. 7,000) and another version priced at CNY 799 (approximately Rs. 8,000) supporting China Telecom and Unicom networks. The Honor 5A will be available via Vmall in China. No details about global availability were made available by the company.

The Honor 5A features a 5.5-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 267ppi. The dual-SIM smartphone supports Micro-SIM cards and comes with 4G LTE connectivity on both the SIM cards. The Chinese company touts that the handset supports VoLTE (voice over LTE). It is powered by the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor clocked at 1.2GHz paired 2GB of RAM and packs 16GB of storage which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB).

The Honor 5A sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with an f/2.0 aperture, CMOS sensor, and LED flash. It also bears an 8-megapixel front camera with f/2.0 aperture and 4P lens. The rear panel of the Honor 5A features a textured design. Apart from 4G, the smartphone supports GPRS/ EDGE, 3G, GPS/ A-GPS, Glonass, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity options.

The smartphone comes with a regular Micro-USB charging port. It measures 154.3×77.1×8.4mm and weighs 168 grams. It packs a 3100mAh battery that is rated to deliver a talk time of up to 28 hours and a standby time of up to 28 hours. The Honor 5A runs Emotion UI 4.1 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
