HTC teases camera experience on HTC 10, ahead of April 12 launch

HTC has once again teased it’s soon to launch ‘10’ smartphone, this time focusing on offer the best camera experience. HTC 10 is due to launch next week on April 12.

We’re just five days away from the official unveiling HTC’s 2016 flagship smartphone, the HTC 10. In the run up to the launch event, HTC has been teasing different features of the smartphone. The latest video teaser focuses on the camera aspect of the smartphone. “We’re obsessed with perfecting every image and video experience. It will be the best ever smartphone for shooting photos and videos,” HTC says.

The video teaser shows off some sample shots and videos taken from the HTC 10 camera. It also shows the camera lens with manual controls that lets you set the shutter speed, aperture and more. With HTC trying to raise the bar with its teasers, it remains to be seen it can actually deliver the performance as promised. The Taiwanese company did something similar when it introduced the 4-UltraPixel camera sensor on the HTC One M7 and One M8 (duo-camera module), however, the end results of camera weren’t as good as HTC claimed to be.

Leaks over the past few months have revealed a lot of things, giving us a fair idea on what to expect from the HTC 10. Right from the unofficial press renders showing off the smartphone’s design to leaked benchmarks and FCC certification, we’ve seen them all.

HTC 10 specifications and features: It is likely to feature a 5.2-inch QHD display. At the heart of the HTC 10, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 quad-core chipset is expected with Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM. With 16GB, 32GB and 128GB storage options, a microSD card slot for further expansion could also be in tow.

Coming to camera, the leaks point to a 12-UltraPixel sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), PDAF and laser auto-focus, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera with OIS. Connectivity wise, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS, 4G LTE and USB Type-C port are expected. The HTC 10 could run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with layer of Sense UI 8 running atop.

According to rumors, the HTC 10 could go on sale three days after the official launch, with prices starting from RMB 3,799 (approximately Rs 39,000) for the base variant and the top-end variant going all the way up to RMB 5,888 (approximately Rs 60,500).
