Hyve Mobility Launches Buzz, Storm 4G Smartphones in India

Hyve Mobility, a New Delhi-based mobility startup, on Wednesday launched its first smartphones in India – the Hyve Buzz and Hyve Storm. The 4G-enabled smartphones will be available from June 22 via Amazon India, Flipkart, and Gadgets 360. While the Hyve Buzz is priced at Rs. 13,999, the Hyve Storm is priced at Rs. 8,499.

Sharad Mehrotra, Co- Founder and CEO at Hyve, commented on the launch in a press statement, “We are glad to launch our first set of smartphones today. They are a great balance of amazing hardware specs, pure Android, and support value proposition… We are committed to deliver devices with very high quality standards, with lot of detailing on ease of usage and consumer delight… Our PAN India pick-up & drop service will set the new benchmark in service & support landscape.”

The dual-SIM Hyve Buzz and Hyve Storm run on stock Android 5.1 Lollipop, and the company is promising an Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for both phones in the future. The Hyve Buzz features a 5.5-inch full-HD display with 2.5D Arc Glass, and is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6753 SoC clocked at 1.5GHz, coupled with 3GB of RAM.

The Hyve Buzz bears a 13-megapixel rear camera with a Sony Exmor RS sensor and dual-LED flash, apart from a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with 16GB of inbuilt storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). The company is also bundling a 32GB microSD with the smartphone. It features a fingerprint sensor on the rear panel, and the company is touting its Touch2Call feature that allows users to set up speed dials corresponding to a fingerprint.

Connectivity options onboard the Hyve Buzz include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, FM radio, NFC, GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. It also supports 4G VoLTE. It measures in at 151×78.2×10.3, and weighs 154 grams. It is powered by a 2500mAh battery. Sensors onboard include a gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and a magnetometer. The smartphone is also IPX4-certified for water resistance.

The Hyve Storm (seen above) on the other hand bears a 5-inch HD display, and is powered by a MediaTek 6735 quad-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz and coupled with 2GB of RAM. It bears a 13-megapixel rear camera with an ISOCELL sensor, PDAF, and dual-LED flash, apart from a 5-megapxiel front camera. It is powered by a 2000mAh battery. Sensors onboard include a gyroscope, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and a magnetometer. It measures 142.5×71.4×8.7mm in dimensions.

The Hyve Buzz has been launched in Twilight Black, Midnight Blue, and Sunset Wine colour variants, while the Hyve Storm has been launched in Snow White and Mystic Grey colour variants

Both smartphones come with complimentary pick-up-and-drop service across 42,000 pin codes in the country, and 1-year pre-bundled insurance of accidental damage
