Intex Aqua Raze II, Aqua Pro 4G with 4G VoLTE support, Android Marshmallow launched: Price, specifications and features

Intex has expanded its entry-level 4G smartphone portfolio with the new Aqua Raze II and Aqua Pro 4G. The two smartphones run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box, and support 4G VoLTE.

Intex has launched two new affordable smartphones in its Aqua series, called the Aqua Raze II and the Aqua Pro 4G. The smartphones are priced at Rs 4,990 and Aqua Pro 4G Rs 5,690 respectively. The smartphones are listed on the company’s official website without details about availability. The key highlights of the smartphones include Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box and support for 4G VoLTE. The Aqua Raze II comes in three colors, white, dark blue and champagne. As for the Aqua Pro 4G, two colors are available for the smartphone – dark blue and champagne.

Intex is offering a screen guard and a protection cover on purchase for both the Aqua Raze II and the Aqua Pro 4G. The Aqua Raze II is preloaded with apps like Matrabhasha, Dailyhunt, Newspoint, Saavn, Opera Mini, Lefty and Fillr. The Aqua Pro 4G is also preloaded with apps such as Matrabhasha, Saavn, Opera mini, Dailyhunt, News Point and LFTY. As seen in many Intex smartphones, the Aqua Raze II and Aqua pro 4G smartphones come with the Emergency Rescue feature which presumably would be activated by holding and pressing the volume buttons for three seconds. This would then automatically send a message with the location to the pre-installed emergency contacts. The Aqua Raze II also comes with Cast screen feature which enables the contents of the smartphone to be displayed on another device.

The smartphone comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB onboard storage which is further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. Its connectivity options include dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. On the photography front, the smartphone sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with 2/4 aperture and dual-LED flash. Up front, is a 2-megapixel selfie camera with flash. On the official website, there is a contradictory listing of the battery power. On one end, it is written that the smartphone is powered by a 3,200mAh battery and on the other, by a 2,000mAh battery. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

If we talk about competition, the Intex Aqua Raze II goes head to head with the Reliance Digital LYF Flame 2, which is priced at Rs 3,599. The LYF Flame 2 features a 4-inch WVGA display and comes with 4GB RAM and 8GB onboard storage. Under the hood, runs a MediaTek 1GHz quad-core processor. The smartphone sports a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 2-megapixel selfie camera. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and is powered by a 1,500mAh battery.

As for the Intex Aqua Pro 4G, Alcatel Pixi 4 poses as competition, which is priced at Rs 5,599. The smartphone features a 5-inch FWVGA display and comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB onboard storage. Under the hood, runs a MediaTek 1.0GHz quad-core processor. It sports an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is powered by a 2,000mAh battery.
