Intex Aqua S7 with 3GB of RAM, 4G VoLTE and fingerprint scanner launched at Rs 9,499: Specifications and features

Intex has launched a new smartphone, Aqua S7, with features like Dragontrail glass, 4G VoLTE support and fingerprint scanner. Priced at Rs 9,499, the smartphone is set to take on the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime and Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus.

Intex has launched a new smartphone in its Aqua series, called the Aqua S7. Priced at Rs 9,499, the Intex Aqua S7 is available through offline channels. The smartphone comes with 4G and VoLTE support, and is also available with Reliance Jio’s Welcome Offer, under which users get unlimited free voice calls and free data services till December 31. The Intex Aqua S7 is available in champagne, rose gold and dark blue color options. The Intex Aqua S7 is one of the few smartphones from Intex to come with fingerprint scanner. Intex has added Dragontrail glass protection on the Aqua S7. The Intex Aqua S7 also comes with 2.5D Glass.

The Intex Aqua S7 comes preloded with applications like Matrabhasha service that enables communication in 21 regional languages including Hindi. The smartphone comes with other pre-loaded apps such as Intex service, Follo, OPERA MINI, Clean Master to name a few. The smartphone also comes with gesture support. The latest Aqua S7 joins a long list of smartphones that the company has launched in the recent times. Over the past couple of weeks, Intex has launched as many as five smartphones, targeting the entry-level and budget segments. Intex recently launched the Aqua 4.5 smartphone with 3G support and priced at Rs 3,349. The Aqua S7 though seems to be on the higher tier as it competes with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime, Moto G4 Play and Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus.

Intex Aqua S7 specifications

The smartphone features a 5-inch IPS HD display with 2.5D curved glass on top. Under the hood runs a 64-bit MediaTek MTK6735 quad-core processor, which is paired with 3GB of RAM. Also on offer is 16GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 64GB via microSD card.

The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and auto focus. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfies and video calling. The Aqua S7 is equipped with a 3,200mAh battery, which the company claims is good enough to offer up to 10 days of standby time and up to 22 hours of talktime. On the connectivity front, the smartphone supports dual-SIM, 4G, VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, and a microUSB port. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.

As said earlier, the Intex Aqua S7 will go head to head with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime, Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus and just launched Moto G4 Play. While the Xiaomi Redmi 3s Prime and Moto G4 Play are priced at Rs 8,999, the Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus is priced at Rs 8,499.

The Moto G4 Play comes with a 5-inch HD display. It runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor along with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 16GB of internal storage. For photography, the smartphone comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone is powered by a 2,800mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Bluetooth 4.1LE and A-GPS. It runs Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. The Moto G4 Play though misses out on the fingerprint scanner.

Xiaomi’s Redmi 3s Prime also has a 5-inch HD display. It has a better Snapdragon 430 processor which is coupled with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 32GB of internal storage, and is expandable up to 128GB via microSD. For photography, the smartphone comes with 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera. The Redmi 3s Prime though also comes with fingerprint scanner and VoLTE support among others. The Redmi 3s Prime however beats the competition with a massive 4,100mAh battery.

The Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus comes with a 5-inch full HD display. It runs 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor along with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 16GB of internal storage. It sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing 5-megapixel camera. The smartphone runs on a 2,750mAh battery. Connectivity options include dual-SIM, 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop wrapped under Lenovo’s Vibe UI. The smartphone doesn’t come with fingerprint scanner.
