iPhone X Edition could be the name of Apple’s new flagship phone

We’ve heard a number of times that today’s flagship new iPhone might be called the iPhone X, while elsewhere there’s been talk that it could be called the iPhone Edition. Now it seems both of those leaks might have been half right, as today we’ve come across the name iPhone X Edition.

Discover’s deals website briefly mentioned the name iPhone X Edition, alongside the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, suggesting that those will be the names of the three new iPhones, with the X Edition sitting at the top of the range.

The listing, which also mentioned other products like the Apple Watch Series 3, has of course been removed, but not before 9to5Mac got a screenshot of it.

It could just be a guess

What’s not clear is whether Discover actually has any inside information, or if it’s just hedging its bets by combining the two likely iPhone names, but as both have been rumored it would make a certain amount of sense if they were both half right. Then again, we’d think we’d have heard this name before now if it was accurate.

So we wouldn’t count on Apple walking out on stage with an iPhone X Edition later today, but we wouldn’t count it out either.

And whatever it’s called, it should be a very exciting phone, with most sources agreeing that it will sport a new design, have a massive form-filling screen, support wireless charging and more.
