LeEco Le 1s (Eco) Made in India smartphone launched for Rs 10,899; launches membership service for video, music streaming

LeEco has launched its first Made in India smartphone called the Le 1s (Eco). It comes integrated with content services for live TV, music streaming and on-demand video.

LeEco hosted an event in Mumbai today, where it launched its first Made in India smartphone, the Le 1s (Eco). The smartphone is essentially the Le 1s, but Made in India. It is equipped with an all-metal unibody design and features a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. Along with the smartphone, the company also talked about its ecosystem and partnership with content providers to offer on-demand videos and live TV streaming to its users on LeEco smartphones.

The smartphone include video on-demand Le Vidi app with Eros Now integration. It offers more than 2,000 movies in 10 different languages, including recent Bollywood movies such as Ki and Ka, Tanu Weds Manu 2 and Bajirao Mastani among others. Next is Le Live app that can stream up to nine live channels simultaneous. The company has also partnered with YuppTV to offer more than 100 live channels on the go.

For music, LeEco has Le Music app with Hungama integration to offer audio streaming with lossless audio in 320Kbps, mood based music discovery and more. Interestingly, Xiaomi has invested in Hungama for music. Along with streaming service, LeEco is also offering 5GB of cloud storage space to its users with LeEco Drive app.

All these services will be available on a membership basis, which costs Rs 490 per month, or Rs 4,900 per year.

LeEco Le 1s (Eco) Price: The smartphone is priced at Rs 10,899 and will go on sale exclusively on Flipkart. Users also get one year membership of content services, costing Rs 4,900 completely for free. However, the smartphone will be available at special introductory price of Ra 9,999 for the first flash sale on May 12 with 100,000 units in stock. At this price point, the smartphone competes with Lenovo K4 Note, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and LG K10. Compared to the competitors, the digital services integration and hardware makes the Le 1s (Eco) an option to consider.

LeEco Le 1s (Eco) specifications and features: It flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) in-cell display with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. Under the hood is 64-bit octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage. On the photography front, it features a 13-megapixel f/2.0 aperture camera and 5-megpaixel front camera.

Armed with a 3,000mAh battery, it also includes supercharge feature that offers up to three hours and 30 minutes of usage in just five minutes of charging. With USB Type-C port, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and GPS connectivity options, the smartphone runs on LeEco’s custom EUI based on Android OS.

The smartphone is ‘Made in India’ for Indians, and includes 10 different languages — Kannada, Tamil, Marathi, Assamese, Bengali, Malayalam, Telugu, Punjabi, Gujarati and Oriya.
