Lenovo sends invites for Vibe K5 Plus India launch on March 15, here’s everything you should know

After launching the Vibe K5 Plus with Dolby ATMOS audio support at the MWC 2016, Lenovo is all set to launch the smartphone in India. The company has sent invites for the launch event, which is scheduled to take place on March 15.

While biggies like LG and Samsung launched their flagship smartphones at MWC 2016, Lenovo also made its presence felt by launching the Vibe K5 Plus, the international variant of Lemon 3 which the company launched in China last month. Along with the Vibe K5 Plus, Lenovo also introduced the slightly cheaper variant, the Vibe K5. Now, the company has sent invites for Vibe K5 Plus India launch on March 15.

One of the talking points of the Vibe K5 Plus is its metal body with removable back panel and battery. Lenovo has also included two stereo speakers at the back with support for Dolby ATMOS.

Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus specifications and features: Flaunting a 5-inch full HD (1080p) display, the Vibe K5 Plus is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 616 1.7GHz octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM. Also on offer is 16GB of onboard storage and a microSD card slot for support up to 32GB.

In the photography department, it features a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Armed with 2,750mAh removable battery, connectivity options such as dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth are present. The smartphone runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with Vibe UI atop.

While there is no word on the pricing in India, the launch price of $150 roughly translates to Rs 10,300. Still it will be interesting to see how aggressive Lenovo can get with the pricing.
