Mi Fan Festival: Xiaomi sells over 100,000 smartphones and accessories

Xiaomi has sold record over 100,000 smartphones during the Mi Fan Festival, celebrating its 6th birth anniversary.

Xiaomi claims it sold over 100,000 smartphones and accessories during its day-long Mi Fan Festival on April 6. The company revealed it had recorded over 1.2 million unique visitors on its mi.com. During the Fan Festival, Xiaomi for the first time had put its flagship Mi 5 smartphone and the 20,000mAH mi power bank on sale.

Xiaomi had also put up other smartphones like the Redmi Note 3, Mi 4, the Mi Pad, Mi Power Banks, and accessories on sale. The company had for the first time conducted three flash sales at on the same day of the festival. Xiaomi also launched a new game on Mi Store App for ‘Mi Fan Festival’, which the company says recorded over 2 million gameplays.

Xiaomi had also offered freebies and bundled offers, like the Mi Band and Mi In-Ear Headphones bundle for Rs 1,598. The Mi In-Ear Headphones Basic along with the Xiaomi Mi 4i (16GB) is available for Rs 11,999, and lastly, the Mi In-Ear Headphones Basic along with the Mi Pad is available for Rs 10,999.

While the Mi Fan festival was a one day affair in markets like India, Malaysia and Singapore, China seems to have a seven day long festival conducted for the Mi fans on Mi.com site and Mi Store. In China the festival cumulatively brought a total of 46.83 million unique visitors, while recording 1.02 billion gameplays. Mi Fan Festival overall recorded a total revenue of $289 million breaking the previous record of 1.25 billion last year.
