As expected, Motorola has launched its ‘shatterproof’ Moto X Force in India. Pricing of the smartphone starts from Rs 49,999, and it goes on sale from February 8.

Motorola Moto X Force price and availability: Motorola has launched two variants of the Moto X Force — 32GB and 64GB. The 32GB variant is priced at Rs 49,999, while the 64GB variant is priced at Rs 53,999. Both the variants will go on sale from February 8 via Flipkart and Amazon India. It will also be available offline at Croma. The smartphone will be available in three color variants — black, grey and white.

Motorola Moto X Force features: The Moto X Force is the Indian variant of the Droid Turbo 2, and its highlight is its shatterproof display and the overall sturdiness. The smartphone comes with ‘ShatterShield technology’, which Motorola claims makes the smartphone shatter proof.

Motorola has essentially integrated multiple layers of material into the device that helps in absorbing the shock and prevents the screen from cracking. These layers include proprietary hard coat for exterior protection, a shield for protecting the interior lens, dual touch layer for safeguarding touch-sensitivity and touchscreen, and an aluminum chassis. Motorola is so sure of its technology that it claims the screen won’t crack or shatter for up to four years.

Motorola Moto X Force specifications: It flaunts a 5.4-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) AMOLED display with a pixel density of 540ppi. Under the hood is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 octa-core processor paired with Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB LPDDR4 RAM.

The internal memory on both the 32GB and 64GB variants can be further expanded up to 2TB using a microSD card. On the photography front, it features a 21-megapixel f/2.0 rear camera with dual-LED CCT flash, Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF), Auto HDR and 4K video recording capabilities. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel f/2.0 wide-angle selfie camera with 1.4um pixel for better low light photography and a front-facing flash.

The Moto X Force features a 3,760mAh battery that the company claims is good enough for up to 48 hours of usage on mixed use, and also supports TurboPower fast charging and wireless charging. There is also a nano-coating to keep the device safe from the accidental splash of water.

Connectivity options include 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2.4GHz+5GHz) with MIMO, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, A-GPS and NFC. On the software front, it runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
