Pixel 3a deal alert: Save £70 on Google’s outstanding mid-range smartphone

You can save a full £70 on a SIM-free Google Pixel 3a at various retailers from now until 18 February – now a mere £329, it the cheapest it’s been since Black Friday.

The Pixel 3a is already a bargain at its usual price of £399, so this deal is really great value, particularly if you’ve already had your eye on the phone. And you should have – our Mobile Technology Editor called the handset a “masterclass in mid-range affordability”, offering many of the advantages of the full-fat Pixel 3 while drastically reducing the price.

There are some inevitable compromises, such as the lower-spec Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 processor and the lack of fancy features such as wireless charging, but those things don’t make a huge impact on the overall quality of the phone.

No, the camera is the star of the show here, with the same 12.2-megapixel lens, wide f/1.8 aperture, dual-pixel autofocus and optical image stabilisation as you’ll find on the full-priced Pixel 3 – a great feature for a mid-range phone and one that makes this a very attractive purchase for photography buffs and Instagram fanatics alike.

There’s also the 3.5mm headphone jack, brilliant colour-accurate display and more – all of which helped the handset earn our Expert Reviews Best Buy seal of approval.

As we wrote in our five-star review: “It’s not quite perfect, but the Pixel 3a represents a significant turning point for Google’s smartphone division… [and] very little else displays as intelligent and well-rounded an approach.”

You can grab the truly excellent Google Pixel 3a for just £349 from the Google Store, Carphone Warehouse, and Currys PC World from today until 18 February.
