Samsung Galaxy Note 6 may arrive sooner than we thought

Last year, Samsung skipped the traditional September IFA release for the Galaxy Note series and announced it in August instead. The latest rumor suggests it’ll be even earlier this year.

According to reliable Twitter leaker @evleaks, the Galaxy Note 6 will be launching in two months time.

His tweet from June 2 reads, “Galaxy Note 6/7 launch event is almost exactly two months away.” That’d make it almost two weeks earlier than expected: the Galaxy Note 5 was announced on August 13 last year.

Evleaks has a good history of getting his information right so there’s reason to pay attention to his claim.

Bringing it forward

What still isn’t clear is what the name of the device will be. Some rumors have suggested it will be called the Galaxy Note 7 to keep it on the same number as the main Galaxy line-up.

It’d mean the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy Note 8 would launch in the same year, for example.

A completely different rumor suggests the Note 6 may be set to come with a dual-camera.

The source claims Samsung Electro-Mechanics is working on a new dual-camera system that may be ready in time for the new Galaxy Note 7.

What sensors the camera will use currently isn’t clear, but it would make sense for Samsung to experiment with dual-lens with rumors building that the iPhone 7 will feature similar tech.

Not June 7th, 6/7 was due to not knowing if it's going to be named Note 6 or Note 7.
