Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge leaked press photos reveal color variants, curvier front and rear design

Just six days ahead of official unveiling, Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge press photos have leaked, showing front and rear side along with color variants.

Samsung is set to unveil its latest flagships the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge at its Unpacked event at the MWC 2016. Ahead of the official launch, several leaks have revealed features of the two smartphones. Now, in the latest set of leaks, we have press photos of both the variants showing the curvy front and back design, and color options. The new information comes via tipster Evan Blass, also known as @evleaks.

Starting with the Galaxy S7, the leaked photos show the smartphone in two different colors – gold and black. The Galaxy S7 Edge shows up in silver, gold and black color options. Compared to last year’s Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge, the S7-family looks little curvier, both on front and the back. The home button, which doubles as a fingerprint scanner, is also bit more rounded now.

Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge specifications and features: From what we have learned so for, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge could flaunt a 5.1-inch and a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED QHD display respectively. Both the smartphones are expected to come with IPXX certification for water and dust resistance, along with Apple’s 3D Touch like pressure sensitive display.

Under the hood, these smartphones will either be powered by Snapdragon 820 or Exynos 8890 chipset, paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB storage options. With the Galaxy S7-family, Samsung is also likely to bring back the microSD card slot, which was missing in the S6-family.

On the camera front, a 12-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/1.7 and a 5-megapixel selfie unit is expected. Connectivity options such as USB Type-C port, Wi-Fi 802.11ad, NFC and Bluetooth are also to be in tow. In the battery department, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge variants could sport 3,000mAh and 3,600mAh batteries, respectively with support for Quick Charge feature. Both the smartphones are expected to run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow wrapped under Samsung’s TouchWiz UI.
