Which Chromebooks support and run Android apps? All you need to know

I/O 2016 saw Google announce that Chromebooks would soon be able to run Android apps. Here are all the Chrome OS laptops getting support in 2016 – and a rundown of which ones already enjoy availability.

Four more Chromebooks have now been added to the list of Android-app compatible notebooks, as Google continues its slow integration of its two operating systems.

As 9to5Google reports, the Dell Chromebook 13, HP 13, Samsung Chromebook 3, and the ASUS C301SA have all been given the ability to run Android apps.

Until now, the Acer R13, Chromebook Pixel 2015, Acer Chromebook R11 and the Asus Chromebook Flip were the only Chrome OS devices to have access to the Google Play Store.

But the list keeps growing, and we’re sure there’s more to come before the year is out – if not early in 2017.

The first Chromebook to officially gain access to Android apps was the Asus Chromebook Flip. Hurrah, we said at the time. One computer!

Throughout the coming months, further Chromebooks and Chrome OS devices will join the party. Here’s a quick rundown of the biggest names – we don’t have specifics just yet, but we’ll update this article as soon as we learn more.

Note that all of these devices may not be universally available – and that we’ve curated this list to filter out some of the also-rans.

This article seems to indicate there are only three CHromebooks which are compatible with google apps. now: Acer Chromebook R11
    Asus Chromebook Flip
    Google Chromebook Pixel (2015)

    Is my understanding correct?

Regarding apps I’d download ASAP: kakao talk, xlite, facebook, and others, but not sure if they count.
