Ahead of its event on September 27, Xiaomi’s teaser posters have been leaked that confirm dual camera set up. The posters also reveal prices of the Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus.
Xiaomi is hosting an event in China on September 27. The company is expected to launch the Mi 5s smartphone. The media invites for the event also hinted at the same with an initial ‘S’. Rumors suggest that the company may launch multiple variants of the smartphone – Mi 5s and Mi 5s Plus. Ahead of the launch, there have been plenty of leaks that have given us a fair idea to what to expect from Xiaomi’s upcoming smartphones. Now, new posters have emerged ahead of the event, confirming the rumored dual camera feature on the new smartphone. The leaked posters also reveal the pricing of the smartphone.
The first image, as reported by Gizmo China, shows two camera lenses of the same shape and size sitting vertically. The text below the camera lens after translation reads, “In addition to dual-camera, what else?” So far, what we have assumed from that leaks and rumors is that the Mi 5s will sport a 16-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/1.9 with features like PDAF and 4-axis optical image stabilization (OIS). There had been leaks suggesting that the Mi 5s would come with dual cameras. The other poster reveals the price of both the Mi 5s and the Mi 5s Plus. If the image is to be believed, then the Mi 5s could be priced at 1,999 Yuan (approximately Rs20,000) and the Mi 5s Plus at 2,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 30,000).
The Mi 5s had recently been spotted on benchmarking website AnTuTu and scored an impressive 164,002 which is better as compared to the One Plus 3’s score of 140,288. Looking back at its rumors and leaks, the Mi 5s was first expected to feature Qualcomm’s Sense ID fingerprint scanner in the home button. While another leaked image showed that the Mi 5s could sport a circular iPhone-like home button which is in contrast to the home button on Mi 5.
Xiaomi Mi 5s specifications
The Xiaomi Mi 5s is expected to feature a 5.15-inch full HD (1080p) display with Force Touch features akin to the 3D Touch on the iPhones above the iPhone 6s. Under the hood, a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 quad-core chipset clocked at 2.4GHz is expected. The smartphone could come with with 6GB of RAM and onboard storage options could go up to 256GB.
On the photography front, the Mi 5s could sport a 16-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/1.9 which could be equipped with features like PDAF and 4-axis optical image stabilization (OIS). The smartphone could be powered with a 3,490mAh battery. Its connectivity options could be USB Type-C port, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and Wi-Fi 802.11.
