Xiaomi Mi 5s specifications, features leaked on benchmarking website

The much-rumored Xiaomi Mi 5s has been spotted online again. A benchmarking website has revealed the phone’s specifications like Snapdragon 821 chipset, 6GB RAM and more.

Xiaomi had launched its flagship smartphone Mi 5 earlier this year, which is currently available in India with a price tag of Rs 22,999. Now it seems that the Chinese company is working on an upgraded version of the Mi 5, which is allegedly called the Mi 5s. Ever since the news of its existence broke, there have been quite a few leaks and rumors about the upcoming smartphone. Now, the Xiaomi Mi 5s has been spotted on a benchmarking website that reveals its key specifications and features.

The specifications and features revealed on AnTuTu benchmarking site are at par with what has been leaked so far. According to the AnTuTu listing, Xiaomi Mi 5s will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. The listing further reveals that the Mi 5s will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 processor paired with Adreno 530 GPU. It also shows that the display will be full HD (1920×1080 pixels). Now all that remains is for the Mi 5s to pass TENAA certification before Xiaomi makes the smartphone official.

Xiaomi Mi 5s specifications

Based on what we have come across so far, the Xiaomi Mi 5s is expected to feature a 5.15-inch full HD (1080p) display with Force Touch feature which is similar to 3D Touch on Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 7 smartphones. Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core chipset clocked at 2.4GHz and paired with Adreno 530 GPU. The smartphone is also expected to come with 6GB of RAM and internal storage of 256GB.

On the photography front, the Mi 5s is likely to sport a 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and 4-axis optical image stabilization (OIS). The Mi 5s could be powered by a massive 3,490 battery along with Qualcomm’s Fast Charge 3.0 support for quick charging. Its connectivity options are expected to be USB Type-C port, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and Wi-Fi 802.11.

As is clear, the Mi 5s will essentially be an upgraded version of the Mi 5. The improvements, if the specifications are correct, would be in the chipset which was Snapdragon 820 SoC in the Mi 5. The RAM has also been increased to 6GB from the existing 4GB in the Mi 5. The onboard storage of 256GB would also be a massive improvement as compared to the highest internal storage in the Mi 5 which is 64GB. The 16-megapixel rear camera on the Mi 5s is expected to come with f/1.9 aperture which is slightly larger than the f/2.0 aperture on the Mi 5.
