Xiaomi’s soon to be launched Mi Max phablet with 6.4-inch display gets teased ahead of the official launch. With the teaser, Xiaomi wants you to believe the phablet can easily fit into your pocket.

Last week, we came across a handful of leaks showing off Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi Max phablet featuring a massive 6.4-inch display. The leaked front panel and the press render have already confirmed the display size and design. Now, Xiaomi has released a teaser image that reveals a small portion of the upcoming phablet. With the teaser, Xiaomi seems to make a point that despite the 6.4-inch display, it can comfortably fit into your pocket.

The previous leaks showed off the front panel, sans the Mi logo on the top left, and the same is evident in the new teaser image too. The phablet also shows off the new Baymax-style design, which comprise of the sensors, earpiece and camera arrangement on the front. It also appears to get the chamfered edges with metal finish, but the bezels on the size are not as thin as the Mi 5. And while some users may refute to the comfort of a 6.4-inch device, Xiaomi seems to be targeting users who prefer large screen devices.

Earlier on Weibo, Xiaomi had conducted an online poll to decide the name of the device. From the four options provided, Xiaomi Max got maximum number of votes. Xiaomi also mentioned that the Mi Max will be a completely new product line, separate from its current Mi and Redmi series. With the new phablet, Xiaomi will also be covering all screen sizes from 4.7-inch to 7.9-inch.

While other details are scarce at the moment, the device is likely to feature a 6.4-inch display running at QHD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution, and powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset. Expected to launch sometime next month, it could be priced somewhere close to $500 (approximately Rs 33,000).
