At Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 3 launch event, Hugo Barra offered a walkthrough at the hardware that goes inside the phablet. He also shared benchmark results of the Redmi Note 3 that kills the competition.
Xiaomi is launching the Redmi Note 3 in India and at the launch event keynote, Hugo Barra talked about the hardware that powers the smartphone. Barra also offered a sneak peek at the phablet’s benchmark results that kills all other competitor smartphones equipped with faster hardware. The smartphone runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 650 hexa-core processor with two flagship Cortex-A72 cores and four A53 cores.
In Antutu benchmark test, Xiaomi compared the Redmi Note 3 powered by Snapdragon 650 SoC with Moto X Style and Nexus 5x, both of which run on Snapdragon 808 SoC. While the Redmi Note 3 logged an impressive score of 77,592, the Moto X Style and Nexus 5x logged a score of 63,150 and 65,413 respectively.
Xiaomi also compared Redmi Note 3 score with Snapdragon 810 powered Nexus 6P and OnePlus 2, both of which are slightly behind with a score of 76,492 and 73,414. Next, Xiaomi also compared the Antutu scores with a smartphone running Helio X10 and MTK6752 SoC, both of which logged a score of 37,454 and 55,499, lagging way behind the Redmi Note 3’s score of 77,592.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 specifications and features: With metal unibody and fingerprint scanner at the back, it sports a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. There is a 16GB onboard storage variant with and 2GB of RAM and 4,000mAh battery, while the 32GB variant comes with 3GB of RAM and a 4,050mAh battery.
The phablet also features connectivity options like 4G LTE support, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and GPS. On the software front, it runs on Android Lollipop-based MIUI 7.
