Project Cars GOTY Edition is down to just £12.99 on PC

Calling all petrolhead video gamers! We’ve got a brilliant deal on one of the best racing games available right now.

Digital download key vendor CDKeys is selling Project Cars: Game of the Year Edition for PC at a bargain price of just £12.99.

This is a particularly good deal given that the game’s recommended retail price is £49.99. Most retailers are selling the game for less however, but it seems almost all vendors are selling the GOTY edition on PC for between £28 and £35, so you’re still making a very respectable saving with this deal.

Project Cars is a motorsport racing simulator developed by Slightly Mad Studios and released across PC, PS4, and Xbox One back in May 2015.

The game features 74 driveable cars, more than 30 unique locations and at least 110 different courses – 23 of which are real-world tracks and routes.

The game attempts to offer a realistic simulation of actual motor-racing, and that’s the main USP over rivals like Forza Motorsport and Gran Turismo.

We gave Project Cars a very high 4/5 score, as we were impressed by the game’s immersive graphics, the focus on racing, the strong AI, and the variety of tracks, cars, and disciplines.

Here’s our verdict: “Project Cars has the looks ambition, style and attitude to take on racing’s big guns, but at the moment the execution isn’t quite there. The problem isn’t the odd minor glitch so much as inconsistent handling, unpredictable difficulty and a career mode that seems to hold the best stuff back for later. Slightly Mad’s game is hugely configurable and still a major treat for motor-racing fans, but it’s going to take a little more polish to become the all-round racing great it so clearly wants to be.”
