HTC 10 to be launched today, promo video gives details

HTC is all set to launch HTC 10 today. While the company is planning an online event for the launch of this new device, it has also leaked a video on the Internet, that gives a good look at the smartphone.

The video, which appears to be one of the promotional ones, shows that the smartphone has been crafted from a single block of aluminium, and also gives a glimpse at the new HTC Sense 8 UI.

In terms of general design, the HTC 10 resembles the One A9. HTC itself has been putting out some information on Twitter, trying to generate buzz around the phone.

For starters the HTC 10 will have a new BoomSound technology; HTC skipped its BoomSound speakers with the previous flagship device, the One A9. HTC’s teasers have also claimed that the device will be “the fastest and smoothest Android smartphone”. It remains to be seen if HTC will introduce a more toned down version of the Sense UI, perhaps closer to stock Android.

As for specs, HTC 10 is expected to launch with a 5.2-inch Quad HD display and will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor.

Reports have also claimed that the next Nexus smartphone will be built by HTC and not LG.

The HTC 10 launch takes place at 5.30 pm IST today on the company’s website, and reports say that the smartphone will start shipping on April 15.
