HTC’s latest teasers hint at the launch of the two new smartphones under its Desire series, but with flagship HTC 10-like features.
HTC is hinting at the launch of a new smartphone launch tomorrow. On its official Twitter account, the company has put up a teaser that reads, “Join us on 09.20 at 8am BST to see what’s new” with the hashtag #BeEdgier. The date for the launch is September 20 and the time given is 8.00AM BST, which will be 12.30PM IST. The tweet is accompanied by a link, which takes you to a page where HTC has put up three teaser videos about the launch.
The first teaser video shows a fingerprint scanner embedded on the back of the smartphone. The second teaser shows the number 150 inside what looks like a camera lens. This could mean that the smartphone will come with a wide-angle 150-degree camera. The third teaser video gives a glimpse of what the smartphone will look like. Sporting a sleek look in black color, the smartphone sports curved edges, with a golden line running on the sides of the smartphone. The rear camera can be seen on the top left of the smartphone which is also wrapped in the gold line and then stretched horizontally till the edge of the smartphone.
As for which smartphone will be launched, HTC hasn’t revealed a lot, but there have been rumors about it. Reliable leakster Evan Blass had tweeted back in July that HTC is working on a Desire branding of its flagship smartphone HTC 10. He also shared an image of the camera lines which is in line with the teaser revealed. According to Evan Blass, the smartphone was slated for launch in end of Q3, which is the current month of September. According to VentureBeat, the new smartphones will be called the HTC Desire 10 Pro and HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle. The HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle is said to come in different colors with golden linings on the edges and around the camera lens, flash and antenna cutouts which go in line with the teaser video shared by HTC.
As for its specifications, the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle will feature a 5.5-inch HD display. Under the hood runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The smartphone will come in two variants, 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage and 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage. On the photography front, the smartphone will sport a 13-megapixel camera with backside-illuminated (BSI) sensor and single LED flash and a 5-megapixel selfie camera with a BSI-like sensor. Both the rear and front cameras are capable of shooting full HD 1080p videos. The Desire 10 Lifestyle smartphone is also expected to offer Boomsound Hi-Fi Edition stereo speakers along with 24-bit system audio. It is also said that the company will ship higher quality earbuds with increased frequency range.
While both the Desire 10 Lifestyle and Desire 10 Pro smartphones are rumored to be launched tomorrow, the teaser videos show only one smartphone so the bets are on the former to be launched.
