Huawei Mate 10 Pro snapped in the real world with curious design difference

If you thought yesterday’s Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL launch would be the last flagship announcements of 2017, well, you’d be wrong.

We’re expecting to see the Huawei Mate 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro in under two weeks, and the latter has just been caught on camera in real world photos for the first time.

We’d previously seen renders of the Mate 10 Pro, and these photos, shared by a Weibo user, largely line up with them, but the back looks a lot shinier here, suggesting that it’s made out of glass where previously it looked more like metal.

Otherwise everything is as we’d expect it to be based on earlier leaks. You can see a large, likely around 6-inch, display with slim bezels, a dual-lens camera on the back (believed to be a 20MP and 12MP pairing), and a fingerprint scanner below it.

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro here is shown in black, but renders have also shown it in blue and brown, so you should have a choice of colors.

The most exciting features will perhaps be facial recognition and a focus on artificial intelligence, both of which have been teased by Huawei itself, but these images don’t give us any further information about them.

All will be revealed soon though, as the Mate 10 range is likely to launch on October 16.
