LeEco Le 2, Le Max2 get EUI 5.8 update

EUI 5.8 update for Le 2 and Le Max2 brings in a bunch of new features and improvements.

Chinese internet and technology conglomerate LeEco on Friday rolled out the EUI 5.8 update for Le Max2 and the Le 2 smartphones to ease user interaction. EUI 5.8 brings in a new and improved phone manager that gives users more control over the data usage and allows them to choose which individual apps can use their Wi-Fi and or cellular data.

In addition to this, the power saving management comes with more functions that enable users to optimize battery usage. App Lock in EUI 5.8 allows users to lock individual apps on phone via a fingerprint or a pass code. The update also allows users to take long screenshots. To make text on the phone larger and more readable, now users have the option of selecting “very large font size.” The music app is also updated and now has a refreshed UI and sorting options such as sort by genre, name, albums and time.

LeEco has rolled out the update for the Le 2 and the Le Max2, which were launched in India earlier this year with a price tag of Rs 11,999 and Rs 22,999 respectively. Despite the difference in the prices, both smartphones feature a metal body, and no 3.5mm audio jack. Instead they use the USB Type-C port for both charging and audio. They also feature LeEco’s proprietary Continual Digital Lossless Audio (CDLA), which offers users with lossless audio.

The LeEco Le 2 features a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB internal memory, 16-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel selfie camera, 3,000mAh battery, fingerprint scanner, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, and 4G with VoLTE support.

The LeEco Le Max2, on the other hand, features a 5.7-inch QHD display, Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 21-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel selfie camera, 3,100mAh battery, and connectivity options like 4G LTE with VoLTE support.
