LeEco Le Max2 with Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB RAM launched in India, price starts at Rs 22,999: Specifications, features

The Le Max2 phablet also features 32GB onboard storage, USB Type-C audio support and Qualcomm’s Sense ID ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

At its 2Future event in Delhi, along with the LeEco Le 2, the company also launched the Le Max2 phablet in India. One of the key highlights of these smartphones is the full metal unibody design, Qualcomm’s Sense ID ultrasonic fingerprint scanner at the back and the USB Type-C audio port. It runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based EUI 5.5 OS. While the LeEco Le 2 is priced at Rs 11,999, the Le Max2 will set you back by Rs 22,999.

LeEco has also launched the other variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage, which will set you back by Rs 29,999. The company has also announced USB Type-C CDLA headphones for Rs 1,990. The USB Type-C port works as data transfer and charging port, and as an audio output port too. It replaces the age old 3.5mm audio jack that is most common on all smartphones today. LeEco has worked to add CDLA (Continual Digital Loseless Audio) technology to offer users with high-quality uncompressed audio listening experience.

LeEco says, it has designed a customized decoder, which is present in the headphone, rather than on a smartphone. Every pair of the headphone has a unique ID to offer seamless listening experience. The company also says the audio via CDLA sounds finer than the Hi-Fi audio.

LeEco Le Max2 specifications and features: The Le Max2 phablet sports a 5.7-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) SuperRetina display with pixel density of 515ppi. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 quad-core processor clocked at 2.15GHz and paired with Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM. For shutterbugs, the phablet comes equipped with a 21-megapixel rear camera of aperture f/2.0 with PDAF, OIS and dual tone dual LED flash. Up front is an 8-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.

With 32GB of onboard storage, the phablet is armed with a 3,100mAh battery and Quick Charge 3.0 feature for fast charging. Connectivity options on the phablet include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, 4G LTE, VoLTE, Bluetooth and GPS. The Sense ID 3D fingerprint scanner with ultrasonic technology for biometric access even works with sweaty fingers.

At its price point, the Le Max2 will directly take on Xiaomi’s Mi 5 which is priced at Rs 24,999 and OnePlus 2, priced at Rs 22,999 for 64GB storage variant. The Mi 5 is equipped with a 5.15-inch full HD (1080p) display, Snapdragon 820 SoC, 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage. The OnePlus 2, on the other hand, features a 5.5-inch full HD display, Snapdragon 810 SoC, 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. Purely going by specifications, the LeEco LeMax 2 has a clear advantage over its competitors. However, we will reserve our judgment until we review the smartphone.

The Le Max2 will also come bundled with the company’s content membership program that it announced with the launch of Le 1s Eco. Priced at Rs 490 per month and Rs 4,900 per year, it gives users an access to various content based services on the go. Members get an access to stream more than 2,000 movies in 10 different languages, over 3.5 million songs in 25 different languages and more than 100 live TV channels.
