Motorola One Power India launch event has begun, with Motorola announcing that September 25 is the company’s 90th anniversary, and the Motorola One Power is the company’s first Android One smartphone to be launched in India. During the launch event, Motorola pledged to make products for India, in India. The company kept reiterating that this smartphone is designed for India. Motorola One Power will be among the first devices to get Android 9 Pie. The company claims that this smartphone has “precision-crafted metal design” and has a fingerprint sensor at the back with the Motorola logo placed on the sensor. Motorola One Power will support Netflix in HD as it supports the Widevine L1 DRM. The Motorola One Power will be available exclusively on Flipkart at Rs. 15,999, with registrations for purchases beginning today. The smartphone will go on sale on October 5.
Motorola has promised up to two days of battery life. The company has included a 15W turbocharger in the box, which apparently gives you six hours of power with 15 minutes of charging. The smartphone runs a 1.8GHz Snapdragon 636 processor. It has two SIM card slots and a dedicated SD card slot. This smartphone’s dual rear camera setup has a 16-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and the secondary 5-megapixel rear camera has f/2.2 aperture. The Motorola One Power also supports 4K video recording. The Motorola One Power has a 12-megapixel front camera.
Motorola One Power was first launched at IFA 2018 in Berlin and we did get our hands on the device at the event. The Motorola One Power has a large 6.2-inch display with a notch, giving it a 19:9 screen to body ratio. It also has a rather large 5000mAh battery, which could translate to good battery life. Whether the smartphone succeeds in India depends on the pricing considering how competitive the market is in the country. Motorola One Power’s price in India will be revealed at the launch event, which will begin shortly.

The Motorola One Power is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 chipset and an Adreno 509 GPU. The smartphone is expected to be launched in just the one variant, which ships with 4GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. The Motorola One Power is going to be available exclusively on Flipkart.
On the software front, the Motorola One Power ships with Android 8.1 Oreo. Since this smartphone is a part of the Android One program, it doesn’t include all of the Motorola customisations from the software point of view. Motorola has included just the top three customisations, which includes the double twist gesture to fire up the camera. The Motorola One Power has a splash-proof coating and ships with a case.
