New video shows iPhone 7 side-by-side with the iPhone 6S

As September gets closer we’re learning more and more about the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, and a new video leaked to Chinese social network Weibo purports to show the smaller of the upcoming handsets alongside the iPhone 6S from last year.

There’s no way of verifying the authenticity of this device but the 159-second clip does show a larger camera lens and a redesigned antenna layout, two rumours that we’ve heard in the past from a number of sources.

The headphone jack has disappeared too, to be replaced by a second speaker grille. Apparently Apple may market this as a new stereo sound feature for blasting out your tunes without the aid of headphones.

Sneak preview

As you can see above, we get both front and back views of the iPhone, although our foreign language skills aren’t good enough to be able to translate what the host is saying – if you can help out then please let us know.

The Space Grey colour used in the past is again in evidence but from this video we can’t tell anything about the inside of the phone. The usual speed and power bumps should be expected for 2016, and there’s been strong talk of a memory boost to 3GB of RAM.

The rumour is that the iPhone 7 Plus (which isn’t shown in this video) will have an even better camera to help woo those who are serious about their smartphone photography. All will be revealed by Apple itself in just a couple of months.

I expected it to be identical to past models, as Apple doesn't really innovative much like that. Even though I expected it, I'm disappointed by it. I had hoped for smaller bezels or something at least.

The biggest risk is not taking any risk… and Apple ain't taking no risk, boy.
    $1trillion worth grave-digging company.
Curios, if Apple manages to make the inside of this device compelling enough, to sell this ancient body, it comes packed in.
Removing the audio jack is a nice touch tho, and would be surprised if they didn't make the device IP68 water resistant this time. That giant sensor looks promising too, and equipping the Plus variant with 2 of it should put them innovation hungry folks to silence too. Also curios how will the battery handle pressure, if the screen res gets bumped up, which kind of is a must, and if those bluetooth headphones keep firing for a while.
The slight changes in the body design, and that horrible screen to body ratio, will eventually get people bored of the iPhones, and now that they are likely to be stuck with this design for another 2 years, may have interesting results – but it might just be me, who cares so much about the looks, and all around design. I don't think we are in for a screen acceptable for VR, and this could also prove as a big mistake, looking at the exploding VR business.
Hope Apple can shake the world up again,if not, hope it produces and all-around nice phone, that can compete with todays Android flagships.

He was holding a model of an iPhone 7 and he got it from the manufacturer. The material of the casing of the model will be identical to the real phone. He also stated it costs his friend a few hundred thousand dollars to buy two iPhone 7 models.

He also mentioned that the iphone 7 will have four different colours,

    Hope this helps.
