OnePlus 2 gets permanent price cut of Rs 2,000, 16GB variant now starts at Rs 20,999

OnePlus has slashed prices of its OnePlus 2 flagship smartphone by Rs 2,000, with 16GB variant now priced at Rs 20,999 and the 64GB variant at Rs 22,999.

Less than a year since its launch in India and after several festive discounts, OnePlus has given a permanent price cut of Rs 2,000 to its flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 2. Launched in August 2015 and priced at Rs 24,999 for the 64GB variant, it will now set you back by Rs 22,999, whereas the 16GB variant which was launched for Rs 22,999 will now cost Rs 20,999.

The price cut comes a couple of months after OnePlus made the smartphone available without invites on Amazon India. Talking about the price cut, OnePlus mentioned in its press release that it has sized up the operations to sufficiently increase its scale of production.

OnePlus 2 price, specifications and features: It flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p) display covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to keep scratches at bay. At the heart of the OnePlus 2 runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 v2.1 quad-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone is available in 16GB and 64GB internal storage options, but there is no option to further expand the storage.

In the photography department, the OnePlus 2 is equipped with a 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), laser auto-focus and dual LED flash. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. Armed with a 3,300mAh non-removable battery, the smartphone also comes with a fingerprint scanner for added security.

On the connectivity front, the smartphone includes dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth. The OnePlus 2 runs on Android Lollipop-based Oxygen OS is due to receive the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based CyanogenMod 13 ROM.
