OPPO A37 with HD display, 8-megapixel camera launched in India, priced at Rs 11,990: Specifications, features

OPPO’s new A37 is placed in a segment dominated by the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and LeEco Le 2.

OPPO recently launched the A37 smartphone in China. Less than a week later the company has brought the smartphone to India. The OPPO A37 is priced at Rs 11,990, and it is set to go on sale on July 1. The smartphone is expected to be available via online and offline retailers, and one will get to choose between gold and grey color options.

OPPO A37 specifications, features: The smartphone sports a 5-inch HD (1280×720 pixels) IPS display with 2.5D curved glass and Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Under the hood is a 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor, paired with 2GB of RAM. Also on offer is 16GB of storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card.

On the photography front, it is equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, BSI sensor, f/2.2 aperture, and 1080p video recording capabilities. Up front is a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.4 aperture and screen flash features.

The OPPO A37 also features a 2,630mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and OTG support. On the software front, it runs on Android Lollipop 5.1 wrapped under ColorOS 3.0.

The OPPO A37 seems a tad overpriced, especially when you consider the kind of smartphones that are available in this price segment. Around this price, one can opt for the likes of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, LeEco Le 2, and Lenovo ZUK Z1 to name a few that offer far better set of specifications and features.
