Samsung Galaxy C9 with 6GB of RAM, Snapdragon 652 SoC spotted at Geekbench

Samsung’s rumored smartphone, the Galaxy C9, has been spotted on benchmarking website Geekbench, which reveals the device could come with Snapdragon 652 processor along with 6GB of RAM.

Samsung’s Galaxy C series debuted in China earlier this year. The series currently has two smartphones, the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7. The smartphones come with metal body and features like 2.5D curved glass and fingerprint scanner. Over the past few weeks, we have been hearing about addition of a new member to the Galaxy C series. Rumored as the Galaxy C9, the smartphone is believed to be successor to the Galaxy C7. The smartphone is expected to be launched next month. Already, a lot of details about the Galaxy C9 have been leaked. It was recently spotted on Indian import-export website Zauba. Now, the smartphone has been spotted on Geekbench benchmarking website, which has revealed key specifications and features of the smartphone.

The Geekbench listing, spotted by Phonearena, reveals that the Galaxy C9 bears a model number SM-C9000. The listing further reveals the single-core score on Geekbench for the Galaxy C9 is 1304, while that for the multi-core test is 4366. Further, the listing also says that the Galaxy C9 will be powered by a Snapdragon 652 chipset, which runs devices like the LeEco Le 2 and Samsung’s recently launched the Galaxy A9 Pro. The Galaxy C9 comes with Adreno 510 GPU and a massive 6GB of RAM, which is available in very few smartphones like the OnePlus 3 and LeEco Le Max 2. The rumored Samsung smartphone is expected to run Android 6.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box. The smartphone will also feature LTE connectivity and a fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is rumored to come with a 6-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, though previous rumors have hinted at a 5.7-inch display.

The Galaxy C series is said to fill the gap between the Galaxy J-series and the Galaxy A-series, which are targeted at the budget and premium segments respectively. So far, Samsung has kept its C-series exclusive to China and most probably the Galaxy C9 not launch in the Indian and other markets anytime sooner.

Back in July this year, the company had launched the Samsung Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 in China. Both smartphones feature full metal bodies with 2.5D curved glass design. The Galaxy C5 flaunts a 5.2-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) Super AMOLED display. It is powered by Snapdragon 617 octa-core processor paired with Adreno 405 GPU and 4GB of RAM. It comes in 32GB and 64GB internal storage variants, and there is also an option to expand the storage up to 128GB using a microSD card.

On the camera front, the smartphone sports a 16-megapixel rear camera, and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. It also features a 2,600mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 support, and connectivity options like dual-SIM (hybid), 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS and NFC.

The Galaxy C7 is a slightly bigger with a 5.7-inch full HD (1080p) Super AMOLED display, and is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 octa-core chipset paired with 4GB of RAM. It also comes with a bigger 3,000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. Other features remain the same as the Galaxy C5.
