Samsung could launch its third Tizen OS powered smartphone called Z2 in India along with the Galaxy Note7 on August 11. It could also be the most affordable Samsung smartphone to come with the Reliance Jio 4G Preview offer.
Samsung enjoys the top spot of being the world’s largest Android smartphone maker, but that hasn’t stopped the company to give up on its homebrew Tizen OS. So far, the company has launched two Tizen OS-based smartphones in India – the Samsung Z1 and Samsung Z3. Now, the company is reportedly set to launch yet another Tizen OS powered smartphone called Samsung Z2, alongside the Galaxy Note7 on August 11.
While it does not make sense as to why Samsung would launch an entry-level smartphone along with a flagship phablet, we will have to wait until August 11 for more clarity. To sweeten the deal, Samsung will bundle the Z2 with Reliance Jio 4G Preview offer for 90-days, PhoneHorn reports. Under the introductory offer, users will be entitled to unlimited HD voice calls, unlimited high-speed mobile data and unlimited access to Reliance Jio suite of apps that include Jio Drive, Jio Music, Jio Play, Jio Money and Jio Security among others.
Samsung Z2 specifications
Earlier this year in May, the alleged Samsung Z2 smartphone carrying model number SM-Z200F was spotted on India’s import and export listing website Zauba. The listing also revealed some of its key specifications and features, which includes a 4-inch AMOLED display, 1GB of RAM, dual-SIM card slot and 4G LTE + VoLTE support. A couple of reports also pointed towards the smartphone to come equipped with S Bike Mode and My Money Transfer App. While the smartphone is expected to run on Tizen OS 3.0, other details are scarce at the moment.
Samsung Z2 price
Samsung Z2 is rumored to be priced around Rs 4,499 and will be available in countries including India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nigeria, South Africa, Indonesia and Nepal.
