Xiaomi Mi Max, MIUI 8 to launch on June 30 in India; smartphone likely to be priced between Rs 15,000 and Rs 20,000

Xiaomi Mi Max smartphone and MIUI 8 OS, the latest version of the company’s custom Android ROM will launch in India on June 30. Xiaomi Mi Max smartphone is likely to be priced between Rs 15,000-Rs 20,000. Xiaomi Mi Max was launched in China in May and was priced at RMB 1499 (Rs 15,330 approx).

Xiaomi Mi Max is ultra-slim, (only 7.5mm in thickness) and weighs 203 g. Xiaomi Mi Max smartphone features 3GB RAM + 32GB storage space and runs the Qualcomm 650 hexa-core processor. Mi Max sports a 16MP rear-sensor with PDAF and LED Flash, the front camera sports 5MP sensor. Xiaomi Mi Max will come in Gold, Silver and Dark Grey colour options.

Xiaomi Mi Max is backed by 4850mAh battery and Quick Charge support, 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, GPS and Bluetooth connectivity. It runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Mi Max has an infrared sensor to use the phone as remote for your AC, TV or other compatible devices. Xiaomi Mi Max is a dual-sim smartphone that is 4G capable, and has Bluetooth, GLONASS, Wi-Fi and GPS/A-GPS as connectivity options.

Xiaomi MIUI8 OS features improved design, better Notes App, a new Notifications bar. MIUI8 also comes with power-saving mode and can detect scam or fraud messages on a user’s smartphone. There’s also an in-build QR code scanner with special functions for users in China like ability to pay via AliPay, etc. Xiaomi MIUI 8 OS also has a power saving mode which freezes the background apps and saves the battery.
