Here’s what the Xiaomi Mi 5 looks like. Xiaomi has also shared camera samples, and the photos look quite impressive.
There may still be sometime left for Xiaomi’s event at MWC 2016 to begin, but its Beijing event has kicked off. At the ongoing event, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun is revealing different aspects of the flagship smartphone, and has already shown off the Mi 5 official photos and camera samples. Needless to say they look stunning.
The Mi 5 is quite slim and flaunts a beautiful metal body with curved edges. Xiaomi says that the smartphone only weighs 129 grams.
Xiaomi has shown off three color variants of the Mi 5 — gold, silver and black. Interestingly, the gold variant has a crisscrossed pattern at the back.
The right edge of the Mi 5 features the volume rocker and power button. It is safe to assume that the SIM card slots will be on the other side.
Xiaomi’s flagship smartphone is expected to feature a pair of 16-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The company’s executives had already shared camera samples before, and it has done so again. The quality of the photos are quite impressive, and as we can see, it seems to work well in low-light conditions, and has a fast focus as well.
Xiaomi Mi 5 specifications and features: Earlier today, an online retailer jumped the gun by listing the Mi 5. It claims the smartphone features a 5.2-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM.
The Mi 5 also features a fingerprint scanner and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and NFC. On the software front, the smartphone runs on MIUI 7.
