“I urge you to have a look at the new feature ‘My Network’ that empowers you to contribute on lively and enriching forums where you can share your ideas and deliberate with others. You will also enjoy the daily tasks on the App,” Modi said.

“Thank you @tim_cook! Friends, welcome & happy volunteering. Your views & efforts are always enriching,” Modi tweeted. Cook, who is on his maiden visit to India as the Apple CEO replied in his tweet, “Thanks PM @narendramodi for a great meeting. Already looking forward to next visit to India. Best wishes on the app!”

So what’s special about the new feature in the Narendra Modi app? This section will consist of forums where App users can share your ideas, views and deliberate with a wide range of people. Several daily tasks would also be put in this section on a regular basis.

Besides the above new features, the ‘Narendra Modi Mobile App’ is the one stop place for latest news relating to the Prime Minister. Infographics outlining the work of the NDA government can be found on the App. Users can also hear the Prime Minister’s speeches, all the episodes of ‘Mann Ki Baat’ and can write to the Prime Minister.

“This App is a part of the larger importance Shri Narendra Modi has given to technology, both in his personal and governmental sphere. He is an active presence on social media platforms and has inspired forums like MyGov to be formed to make governance more people centric,” claims the release on the app.

Tim Cook is on a four-day visit to India during which he has met iOS app developers in Mumbai and also opened Apple’s new office in Hyderabad. Cook has time and again emphasised on the growing importance of the Indian market for the iPhone maker.

In an interview with Indian Express, Cook has said, “We are looking at India more holistically. We look at it as an unbelievable source of talent for both our internal operations like R&D on maps, but also as a developer population with a lot of entrepreneurs who want to develop and create apps they want to offer to the world.” “We are obviously thinking through the supply chain piece. We had an idea with the certified pre-owned and we are working with the government on that,” he added.
