Featuring a big 6.6-inch QHD display, the Honor Note 8 will take on Xiaomi’s 6.44-inch Mi Max. The Honor Note 8 will be launched on August 1 in China.
Last week a new Honor smartphone, dubbed Honor Note 8, was spotted China’s TENAA website, revealing the device features a big 6.6-inch display. Now, Honor has reportedly sent out media invites for an event in China on August 1 where it is likely to launch the smartphone. Honor in its media invite has also hinted that the smartphone has a 2K (QHD) display.
The teaser clearly hints that the Honor Note 8 will come with a 6.6-inch 2K display, and is most likely to compete with the Xiaomi Mi Max, which has 6.44-inch full HD display. Xiaomi’s Mi Max has seen a positive response in the market, and its success is expected to drive a new big-screen smartphone category altogether. Already, Samsung has launched a large-screen Galaxy J Max in India.
That said, last week’s TENAA listing also revealed other important details about the smartphone.
Honor Note 8 specifications
The Honor Note 8 will be powered by a 2.5GHz octa-core Kirin 955 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. The smartphone will come with 64GB of internal storage. Right now there is no word on whether smartphone will have other storage variants as well.
Honor Note 8 features
The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling and selfies. The Honor Note 8 will come with 4,400mAh battery. Other features of the smartphone include fingerprint scanner and a USB Type C port among others. The smartphone is said to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
Honor Note 8 Price
The Honor Note 8 is likely to be priced at CNY 2,299 (approximately Rs 23,000). There are rumors that the company might also launch a cheaper version of the Honor Note 8, featuring a Kirin 950 SoC, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory and will be priced at CNY 1,999 (approximately Rs 20,100).
