The new Huawei P9 launched in India boasts a dual-camera setup co-developed with Leica. The flagship smartphone start from Rs 39,999, and it will go on sale via Flipkart today.
Dual-camera setup is fast becoming a buzz word in the smartphone space with an increasing number of companies opting for such a setup. Today Huawei has launched the P9 in India, and its USP is the dual-camera setup at the back, which has been co-developed by Leica. The Huawei P9 is priced at Rs 39,999, and it will be going on sale exclusively on Flipkart from 3:00PM today. Huawei is also offering two-year warranty, as well as three months free damaged screen replacement.
As you would expect from a flagship smartphone, the Huawei P9 flaunts a unibody design made up of aerospace-grade aluminum, diamond-cut edges, and covered in 2.5D glass. But the talking point clearly is the smartphone’s photographic chops. While Huawei may not be the first smartphone to opt for a dual-camera setup at the back, its functionality is a tad different.
The Huawei P9 features a pair of 12-megapixel snappers at the back, accompanied by Monochrome and RGB sensors. The camera also comes with built-in dual-core ISP, professional DSP, and the depth measurement ISP for improved image focusing, speeds, processing. Huawei says the camera setup is good enough to capture photos with great colors, details and sharpness, and even works well in low light.
The rear camera also features laser auto-focus, hybrid auto-focus, contrast focus and even depth focus feature. However, it is worth pointing out that OIS (optical image stabilization) is missing. The primary camera is also capable of shooting videos at 4K resolution. Up front, there is an 8-megapixel camera with f/2.4 aperture, and 1080p video recording capabilities.
Huawei P9 specifications
Besides the camera bit, the Huawei P9 flaunts a 5.2-inch full HD (1920×1080 pixels) IPS display, and is powered by a Kirin 955 64-bit octa-core processor. It also features 3GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage, which can further expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.
The rest of the specifications include a 3,000mAh battery with fast charging support, a fingerprint scanner placed at the back, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 2.4G/5G, a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and USB Type-C port. On the software front, the Huawei P9 runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1.
