LG V20 price: how much will LG’s new phone cost?

After weeks of teases, the LG V20 is finally here, complete with two screens, front and back wide-angle lens cameras and a military-grade build. It’s the successor to the LG V10, a solid phone we gave four stars to in our review.

However, the V20 is a phone all its own. Available in titan, silver and pink (only the first two colors in the US), the V20’s 5.7-inch screen puts it firmly in the phablet category. Unlike its predecessor, though, the LG V20 sports a more refined look to go along with its more far-out features.

It’s also the first phone to come with Android 7.0 Nougat. Combine that with top-of-the-line video and audio features (including a distortion and ambient noise-minimizing Quad DAC), and the LG V20 has the makings to be one of the most compelling phones of the year.

But just how much will it cost you to get your hands on a phone with two screens and Android Nougat?

Here’s a breakdown of the LG V20 price and release details on where and when you can expect to buy it.

LG V20 price

The LG V10 was hardly a cheap phone, but unfortunately we don’t yet know if the V20 will follow in its footsteps.

The LG V10 price was $700 in the US, and it never came to the UK or Australia. If it did, it would have cost around £600/AU$1,100, if it followed that pricing scheme.

LG says it will announce exact V20 pricing in a few weeks. That’s usually not a good sign the phone will be cheap, but perhaps LG will offer its new device at a price that won’t break the bank. We’ll hopefully know soon.

LG V20 availability

LG is taking a trickle approach with the V20’s release, first releasing it in Korea this month before expanding to “other regions.”

While information on what those other markets are will be shared at a later date, we do know the LG V20 will be available across the US at the country’s top carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint. Best Buy, B&H and US Cellular will also sell the device.

LG hasn’t yet announced exactly when the V20 will go on sale in the US, but it did say the phone will launch there in the third quarter, which basically means sometime in September.

We’ve asked for UK and Australian pricing and release details, and will update this story once we learn more.

LG does promise that local launch dates will be shared in specific regions “in the weeks to come.”

One perk of buying the LG V20 as soon as possible – when it becomes available, that is – is that LG is giving away a pair of B&O Play H3 Lightweight Earphones with a purchase of the V20. The deal is only for a limited time, but if you act quickly, you may just grab a set.
