Here’s how it feels to be running at the speed of a cheetah.
Ever since GoPros hit the market in 2004, there has been no limit to what people record and capture with the tiny little device. People have explored ways to capture what seemed to be impossible back in the days. The latest one is a video captured by a GoPro strapped to a Cheetah, which gives a unique view into just how fast the animal is.
A GoPro was attached to Savanna, a cheetah belonging to the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden in the state of Ohio. As a part of the Cat Ambassador Program, a GoPro was attached to record her running speed.
Savanna was pretty comfortable putting the harness on as her trainer Alicia Samson had said, “We put it on Savanna and she could really care less.” If you watch the video at full speed, you really can’t see much because of the super speed the cheetah runs at, which is obvious. But if you watch it in slow motion, you can see how wildly, her body moves with her spine going up and down. Her head, though, remains steady keeping her in an alert mode.
There have been many other videos of GoPros strapped to animals and birds as well. Some amazing ones were of an eagle flying and catching its point of view, a dog jumping off a cliff to fetch a ball thrown in the water, and a turtle’s eye view of the Great Barrier Reef. GoPros have also recorded unexpected incidents like the recent one of a plane crash in California. The wonders of GoPro never cease to end.
